The Rusty Sword is the first weapon obtained in Stardew Valley. It is given to the player by Marlon upon entering the Mines for the first time on the 5th day of Spring. Though weak compared to later weapons, the Rusty Sword introduces combat and provides basic protection against early Mine enemies.
