Books, added in the 1.6 update, are readable items that grant permanent skill boosts, unlock crafting recipes, or reveal lore about the valley and its residents. They can be bought from the Bookseller during their periodic visits, found while fishing or digging artifact spots, dropped by monsters, or received as gifts. Power books provide lasting bonuses such as extra experience or improved luck, while Lost Books uncovered through digging fill out the Museum’s library and expand the world’s story. Tracking down and reading every book is an important step toward achieving Perfection.
