🥫 Preserves Jar

The Preserves Jar is an artisan equipment item in Stardew Valley. It is used to turn vegetables into Pickles and fruit into Jelly, greatly increasing their value compared to selling the raw crops.

Preserves Jars provide one of the earliest ways to boost farm profits, and they remain useful for bulk crop processing throughout the game.

✨ Uses

Turns Vegetables into Pickles (+50g + 2× base veg price)
Turns Fruit into Jelly (+50g + 2× base fruit price)
All products take 2 in-game days to process
Pickles and Jelly can be sold, gifted, or used in bundles

Crafted after reaching Farming Level 4
Recipe: 50 Wood, 40 Stone, 8 Coal
Can also be rewarded in certain bundles or quests

💡 Tips & Strategies

High-value crops (e.g. Ancient Fruit, Starfruit) give the best profits as Jelly.
Cheaper, fast-growing crops (like Cucumbers or Tomatoes) work well in bulk for Pickles.
Processing time is always 2 days, regardless of crop type.
Run multiple Preserves Jars in parallel to keep up with large harvests.
