Oil is an Artisan Good in Stardew Valley. It can be crafted by placing Corn, Sunflowers, or Sunflower Seeds into an Oil Maker, or purchased directly from Pierre’s General Store. It is primarily used in cooking recipes rather than as a profit-making item.

Oil takes 1 hour to process in an Oil Maker. Since it is inexpensive to purchase, most players use it as a convenient cooking ingredient.

📦 Uses

Required in multiple cooking recipes such as Fried Eggplant, Salad, Coleslaw, and Stir Fry.
Sold for profit, though generally not worth making compared to Truffle Oil.
Can be purchased directly if farming ingredients are not available.
Not used in bundles.

Pro Tip: Oil is cheap and easy to acquire, so focus on stockpiling it for cooking instead of trying to profit from it.

Buying Oil from Pierre is usually more efficient than crafting it, unless you have surplus Corn or Sunflowers.
Always keep some Oil on hand — it’s used in many common cooking recipes.
Unlike Truffle Oil, regular Oil has little resale value and should not be prioritized for profit.
