🏠 Coop

The Coop is the basic animal housing building in Stardew Valley. It is purchased from Robin at the Carpenter’s Shop and allows the player to raise chickens. The Coop can later be upgraded to the Big Coop and then the Deluxe Coop to increase capacity and unlock more animals.

Pro Tip: Get a Silo before building a Coop — this ensures you can store Hay from cutting grass to feed your chickens through Winter.

Chickens are one of the cheapest and easiest animals to care for, making the Coop a solid first building.
Mayonnaise is significantly more profitable than selling raw Eggs — craft a Mayonnaise Machine as soon as possible.
Plan early upgrades — Ducks and Rabbits become very profitable later.
