๐ Barn
The Barn is a type of farm building in Stardew Valley, purchased from Robin at the Carpenter’s Shop. It allows the player to house and raise larger animals such as cows, goats, sheep, and pigs. The Barn can be upgraded twice to a Big Barn and a Deluxe Barn, unlocking additional animals and features.
๐ Construction
๐ฆ Capacity & Upgrades
The Barn can initially hold 4 animals. Upgrading increases capacity and unlocks new animal types:
Barn Type | Capacity | Unlocks | Upgrade Cost |
---|---|---|---|
Barn | 4 | Cows | 6,000g, 350 Wood, 150 Stone |
Big Barn | 8 | Goats | 12,000g, 450 Wood, 200 Stone |
Deluxe Barn | 12 | Sheep, Pigs, auto-feed system | 25,000g, 550 Wood, 300 Stone |
๐ Uses
- Houses cows, goats, sheep, and pigs (depending on upgrades).
- Provides animal products like Milk, Goat Milk, Wool, and Truffles.
- Essential for progressing toward artisan goods such as Cheese, Goat Cheese, and Cloth.
- Completing the Community Center bundles often requires barn animal products.
๐ก Strategy
Pro Tip: Focus on upgrading the Barn early if you want access to high-value animals like Pigs, which produce Truffles that can be turned into Truffle Oil for massive profit.
- Cows provide a steady income via Milk and Cheese, making them a good starting point.
- Goats and Sheep add variety but may take longer to generate profit compared to Pigs.
- Truffles from Pigs are among the most profitable animal products in the game.
